The Plus was basically a 512k with more memory and a SCSI port. Everything else remained the same. It is, however, one of the longest-selling Macs of all time, since it started in 1986 and was only discontinued once the Macintosh Classic appeared, in the end of 1990.
It was mainly marketed at the home and educational markets, since it was not as powerful and expandable as its bigger brother, the SE (and the still-to-come SE/30).
My unit was given to me by Colossus, since they already had a Plus in their collection. Unfortunately, the PRAM battery was left in its place for too long and started leaking into the PSU and analog board... once I turned it on, something popped inside it and it even triggered the main circuit-breaker! Later I tried to power it on again and I have succeeded (the battery was no longer in its place) - however, something is definitely wrong with the analog board, since the image appears really, really bright and out of focus.
Until I have the time (and the proper tools) to open it, there's not much I can do with it, I'm afraid...
