The Quadra 650, introduced in the end of 1993, was a replacement for the Centris 650 (introduced the same year). It came in a big desktop case (which first appeared with the IIvx - a model I used to have, but since it was completely non-operational, I donated it to Colossus, for their museum), had a 33 MHz 68040 processor (in fact, it is the single 040 machine I have in my collection), three NuBus slots (along with a PDS slot), on-board Ethernet (a AAUI-RJ45 adapter is necessary, but I also have a NuBus Ethernet card fitted in one of the slots), and room for up to 136 MB of RAM.
This big case also allowed the installation of either a SCSI CD-ROM drive, or a second hard drive (although I believe the usual configuration was the former). My unit is in terrific shape (aside from being terribly dirty and a little bit yellowed), having 73 MB of RAM and a big, 2 GB SCSI hard drive. It actually "feels" really fast (when compared with the LC IIIs and the compact Macs) on the system 7 desktop. Once I have the time, I might use it to play some of the vintage games which are not PowerPC-friendly, since this is my fastest 68k machine (I really need to get hold of a Quadra 840AV! :-)).
The serial number seems to be missing, which may suggest the logic board was swapped in a warranty-backed repair (some of my machines, such as the Performa 5200/75, also lack their serial number for the same reason)
