So yeah, today I went to the boathouse in the morning and I watched the sun rising. Love this early morning outings!

A little contraption I’ve devised to prevent my test subject’s (aka supervisor š ) eye from following the scanning line and thus introduce motion artifacts on my images. Don’t worry, the output optical power in this laser diode can be controlled properly, it is not my intention to blind anyone! š

So apparently in 8055 the calendar will change radically – December will have at least 43 days!
(it sounds great – a longer period in that "gray area" between Xmas and New Year’s in which no-one actually works properly because it is still "sort of Holiday Season"! š . We may not have Xmas or New Year’s by then, though… š )

Clear sky the night before meant that this morning the temperature was still pretty much around 0Ā°C, even after a few hours of sunlight!
(I still had to scrape the ice off my car to get going, even though I left around 10 AM and the car was under direct sunlight for more than two hours! :-P)

And that’s how I mark reports – dual display, graphics tablet to annotate directly on the PDFs and LyX to write the feedback sheet. Much easier than to print them all, and then scan them all! š
